A Special Story

Hi! My name is Eliza and I’m five. I love drawing pictures all the time, and now I’m sharing them to help a very special charity.

This year (2025), my grandad died on 17th April while I was four. He spent his last six weeks at the Royal Papworth Hospital at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. The hospital is a world-leader in treatment of and research into cardiovascular and respirtory diseases. The care there was so good that he called it the “Royal Papworth Hotel”! The staff were all so kind and friendly, and they did everything they could to look after him, and more. The food was really yummy too, which he loved.

Everyone loved my grandad, but I loved him the most. I used to pick apples with him in the garden, climb big ladders, and then we’d make the best apple juice in the world together. He also loved helping other people and used to volunteer at our local village food bank. My Daddy does lots of good too, like giving blood to help others. I wanted to do something to help people too, just like them.

The first charity I’m supporting with my art is the Royal Papworth Charity (Charity Registration No. 1049224). The charity provides vital funding for projects across thr hospital to ‘bring tomorrow’s treatments to today’s patients’. They help the hospital do amazing things for patients, like they did for my grandad.

Thank you for looking at my drawings and helping make a difference!
